Normal service resumes for women's swimming

The women's swim team has begun its 2008-2009 campaign. The group has gone 2-1 in their first meets but have a long season ahead of them. Last season the team swam to a record of 15-4. They placed second in the league and had the most wins in their programs history.

Field hockey's impressive run ends in playoffs

For the first time since 1997, the Wheaton Lyon's field hockey team will not be participants in the NEWMAC postseason championship. Entering NEWMACs with high expectations, the second seeded Lyons struggled in their first round match up against seventh seeded Smith, who challenged Wheaton enough to send the contest into overtime, despite the Lyons dominating the game in the statistical category by out shooting Smith to an astounding 21 to 5 and leading 14 to 4 in corners.

A funny thing happened last Thursday. Something which seldom happens in the contemporary "ESPN Era" of professional sports. A game lived up to its hype. Can we give it a name? How about the "Rager at the Razor"? Under the bright lights of primetime at Foxboro, the New York Jets surged past the New England Patriots in an OT thriller to take sole possession of first-place in the AFC East.
