Students who took advantage of the Davis International Fellowship this past summer not only gained outside-the-bubble experience, but a whole new perspective on their lives and what it means to represent the United States in a foreign country. The Fellowship gives summer grants of $5,000 to eligible current sophomores and juniors for overseas independent studies or research programs.
Twice each year, Wheaton's Board of Trustees visit campus to converse directly with students about the three most pressing issues demanding the college's attention for the given semester. Now in its third year, Ally 101 Training is open to all Wheaton community members and is run by trained Safe Zone Student Ambassadors with support from college staff.
Only two weeks after graduation, Milenny Then '06 began training for Teach for America. The organization places recent college graduates in schools within low income communities to balance out the educational disparity of the public school systems in the U.
In a community of 1500, selection may seem pretty limited, which is why it feels like you've won the lottery when you find someone you think is great and who thinks you're awesome too. Once you've found him it can be hard to give him up, even when the relationship is over and done with.
