Israel article misrepresents country's plight

I was dismayed by the Wire's recent article concerning the "campus dialogue" about "the daily struggle of Israel" (Discussion of Israel by Outreach Program Opens Campus Dialogue by Jonathan Wolinsky). Wolinsky's presumptions are astonishing. I was surprised to read, "In today's busy global stage, daily struggles of Israel…are often glossed over in favor of something more captivating, something that will sell more newspapers.

Another World Series for the Red Sox, but really, was there any point in the season that we really doubted they could do it? While the victory parade in Boston was the following Tuesday, Wheaton had our own version of a victory parade; an exodus moved across the dimple, to the pond.

The recent events in Iraq involving the alleged "near-miss" shootings of Iraqi civilians by contractors employed by Blackwater USA have raised the public's awareness of contractors, and the pronounced role they play in America's overseas operations. The alleged "near-miss" shootings, if true, are tragic and deeply hurtful to the American endeavor in Iraq.
